The whole thing takes about six months. First, you apply, then there's this 7-question thing where you record yourself answering using some software and it goes to the hiring manager. They decide if you move on to Skype interviews, which include a PPT and Excel test. What they ask in those depends on the specific jobs you picked. They ask a lot of 'tell me about a time when...' questions. If they like you after that, you fly out to HQ for the final interview. My interviewer was super late, like an hour, maybe they forgot or didn't check their calendar properly. They also didn't know what position I was applying for, so I had to correct them. Because of the lateness, we ended up just doing a phone call. Didn't get an offer after all that mess. They were nice though.

It was a long process, about four months, but the HR team was really good about keeping in touch, answering any questions I had, and being supportive throughout. It started with a phone screen, then a video interview with HR, followed by a one-way video interview using SparkHire. The final part was spending two days at HQ. The first day involved an introduction and a group assignment. The second day had a panel interview for each specific position. If you're knowledgeable and confident in what you're discussing, the process is pretty straightforward.

This is an extremely long and competitive interview process, but it's worth it! The application opened in early October, with final interviews happening in February and decisions in March. The first step is a preliminary screening by filling out an online application. After that, there's a phone interview, followed by a Skype interview. The final round is a 2-day event at their headquarters in Herndon. Hundreds of grads apply each year for just over a dozen spots, making it highly competitive. However, this program is an amazing opportunity for new grads looking for an entry-level job. It offers tons of room for growth and lets you try a completely new job every couple of months for the two-year duration. This allows you to figure out your likes and dislikes in your field, which is a big advantage for new grads. Plus, everyone I've met at VW so far is incredibly bright, yet down-to-earth, friendly, and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this program to everyone!
