Data Scientist
It was a lot of interviews, very thorough. Started with an initial interview, then 2 technical interviews, followed by 2 soft skill interviews focusing on project management and team management. The final interview was with the hiring manager. The tech interviews involved Python coding tasks, covering both algorithmic problems and practical data analysis and modeling. The practical part required a complete solution, from data preparation to finished model analysis, which was quite involved but doable within the given time. The soft skills interviews were fairly standard, usually combined into one, but here they were separate. I was told I was doing great throughout, but after all rounds, I waited a long time for a decision and was eventually declined.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Data Scientist
It started with 3 hands-on technical interviews, and I'm not sure what new information the team was trying to get after multiple rounds. The last round was called strategy, but it was actually another hands-on coding round, which was a total disappointment. I'm never going to apply to this company again, as they don't seem to care about what a candidate is working on day-to-day or their skill sets. Instead, they conduct coding rounds in the world of Gen AI and market themselves as an advanced ML-using company.
- Could you complete a Pandas coding exercise using a given dataset?
Data Scientist
The first round will take 75 mins and has two parts. First, you'll get a dataframe (or maybe you just need to join some) and do EDA on it. Then, run sm.OLS regression to get the p-value and R2 and talk about what they mean. It'd be great if you could also show all the regression assumptions and residual analysis. Second part is on the Linux Terminal. Make sure you know GREP, FIND, AWK, and so on. Always explain why you're writing the code you are. Good luck!
- Can you explain outlier analysis using the IQR method?
- What kind of join would you use to merge these dataframes?
