Account Manager
The interview process included an initial self-presentation, followed by a case study (with 30 minutes prep time and provided documents). The final stage was a simulation involving a stressful customer experience. The total conversation time was 4 hours, with many follow-up questions about my career history, and a focus on the Challenger method in the sales portion.

National Account Manager
Applied online for a role in Spain. HR (via Ranstad) called, and we arranged an interview. I was supposed to get an email with details but didn't, so I called back. The next day, I got an email with the wrong date, but I showed up at Vodafone HQ in Madrid as planned. I waited over 30 minutes for the interviewer. The interview lasted 2.5 hours. It started with an explanation of the process. Then, I did a practical exercise where I had to manage a subsidiary, solve problems, create a sales improvement plan, and present it. This was followed by a formal interview discussing my resume, and finally, a short interview in English. The HR person was professional despite the scheduling issues. I was told a decision about moving to the next step with business people would be made the following week, with hiring decisions for finalists the week after. I was also promised communication if not selected, with reasons. The next week, I was told the process was on hold until after Christmas, but I was a finalist and would be called after the holidays for a second interview with business people. After the holidays, I heard nothing, so I called again the following week and was told they lost some candidates and were doing more first-phase interviews. It's been a month, and I'm still waiting for a call or any communication.
- Can you elaborate on your experience?
- What were your sales figures?
- How many direct reports did you have?
Account Manager
The whole process took about 3 weeks. First, there was a phone interview with someone from recruiting. They touched on the resume and asked about past experience. Then, there was an in-person interview at the location I applied to with the recruiting person and the sales manager. They went deeper into skills and experience. Finally, there was an assessment center where sales skills and rhetoric were specifically tested. I got the offer right after the assessment center.
- Introduce yourself using a personal object.
- Practice a phone acquisition.
- Do a role-play of a sales conversation.
