To apply for a paralegal position at Family Design Resources / SWAN LSI, you first have to use their online application. The online application requires you to upload your resume, and then manually re-enter all of your resume information into separate fields, which is really frustrating and takes a lot of time. After I applied twice, I got a phone interview with HR/Recruiter in Harrisburg. The phone interview had standard questions like 'why are you applying?' and 'tell us about your work history?', plus some basic info about the company and job. After that, they scheduled me for an in-person interview a week later. I got there 5 minutes early, signed in, and then waited about 15 minutes past my interview time to be greeted. The person who greeted me wasn't who the HR person said to ask for. When they walked me to the conference room, I found out I'd be interviewing with five people: two paralegals, the paralegal manager, the paralegal coordinator, and a county solicitor. The manager, coordinator, and solicitor led the interview. The two paralegals didn't do much and didn't ask questions. The county solicitor asked a few questions but was rude, constantly on his phone checking emails/texts, even while I was answering him. He even took a call and left the room, never returning, without even saying goodbye. The interview lasted about 45 minutes and felt disorganized. I was unhappy not knowing who would be there. A week later, I got a standard rejection email saying my qualifications didn't match. It seems they wanted someone who would just go along with the manager, coordinator, and solicitor, which I wouldn't do. It makes sense why the company has a low Glassdoor rating and high turnover.

There was a long application process. After uploading my Resume and answering a thorough questionnaire, I was sent to their company website to input all my resume information again and answer another detailed questionnaire. The interview itself was pretty standard. They didn't mention pay until the very end, and it was surprisingly low given the qualifications they wanted and the tasks I'd be doing.
