First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VNS Health.
Marketing Manager
I applied on the website and heard back from a recruiter a few days later. My first interview was scheduled soon after. I felt the interview went well; the interviewer even suggested I reach out if I needed updates. After a few weeks, I followed up with the recruiter, but got no response. I sent another follow-up weeks later, and still nothing. I was completely ghosted. Interestingly, they reposted the job after three months.

Registered Nurse Care Manager
I had a phone screening and then a second zoom interview. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. The recruiter was super friendly, but then there was a panel of 5 people, which felt pretty intimidating. They said I'd hear back in 2 weeks, but they never did and just ghosted me after the interview.

Chief of Staff
I went through eight rounds of interviews with VNS Health. This included two 30-minute phone calls, four Zoom calls with two people each, one panel interview, and a final interview with the CEO. After completing all of this, I was ghosted by their recruiting team despite my follow-ups. Notably, during the interviews, several executives were texting and dismissive of my responses. For a company that claims empathy as a core value, it was quite the opposite experience.
- How would you influence individuals over whom you don't have direct authority?
Quality Improvement Specialist
So I started with a screening chat with the recruiter, which was pretty chill. She told me about the job and what the company has to offer. After that, I had an interview with the hiring manager, and that seemed to go well. Then came a panel interview where they wanted me to prep a presentation and a project proposal for a quality improvement project, using data they gave me. Honestly, looking back, I probably shouldn't have done that - it felt like I was doing free work. The panel interview itself went okay though. Next, I met with the head of the department. She seemed to like me, but I found out later she checked with my old boss. Even though nothing bad was apparently said, I think it affected her decision. Also, the job was advertised as remote, but I learned the department head prefers her team in the office, which wouldn't have worked for me right now. All in all, it wasn't a horrible experience.
- Can you share your experience with quality improvement projects?
