Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VMLY&R COMMERCE.
Art Director
The interview process was un-stressful, fun, exciting, and rejuvenating. I enjoyed meeting the team directly and also had the chance to meet the team that works out of Atlanta via Skype interviews. I also had close contact with HR, which was really helpful in keeping the process going and knowing how things work at GG.
- What cereal would you be, and why?
Art Director
I met with two people on the team. The first person was nice but didn't say much. The second person was a VP who only had 10 minutes because he was busy. He asked me to email him if I had more questions about Geometry, which I did, but he never responded. After three weeks of silence, I followed up with HR and the two people I met with, but still no reply. HR eventually told me they chose someone with more experience. It felt like a waste of time since they didn't seem to read my resume or understand my experience level, only to say later they wanted someone more experienced. Overall, don't bother.
- What type of projects are you interested in working on?
Art Director
I first spoke with a recruiter. It took about a month to hear back, but after that, things moved really fast. It was actually one of the quickest interview processes I've gone through in this industry. They seemed to know exactly what they were looking for.
- Can you share your previous experiences?
- What projects have you been involved in?
- Can you describe a campaign that you led?
