The interview process was good, involving a technical discussion and a general chat. It was split into 3 interviews: one general, one technical but not focused on 'leetcode' style problems, and a final one that was more cultural.

Technical Coding Behavioral

A recruiter first called me, then I had an online technical interview for about an hour. After that, I had a final interview with my potential team lead and the engineering manager. The interviews focused on general theory like OOP, SQL, and concurrency, with some live coding in the first interview. It wasn't a hard LeetCode problem, but rather filling in gaps in a basic API definition and writing tests for it. The second interview was similar theoretically but without coding. The questions were pretty easy for an experienced dev, covering OOP, design patterns, SOLID, and SQL. They said they'd decide in about a week, but I heard nothing for over two weeks. I followed up, waited another week, and still got no response or feedback, which I found unprofessional.

Behavioral Technical

It was a Zoom call with the tech lead for the department I would work under. They asked me a lot more technical questions than what I was prepared for. I expected personality questions, and instead got hit with a lot of stuff about databases. I can't imagine it would be too hard to study, just wasn't ready for it. This reduced applicants from the 1300 that applied (from what I heard) to the 20 phone interviews, than to 8 on second stage. First round was a phone call with a tech recruiter based in San Fran. It was calm, almost entirely personality. Standard interview questions about who are you, what got you into programming, are you capable of working in a fast paced job.
