Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VIZIO.
Senior Software Engineer
The process started with a recruiter call. After that, I had an interview with an architect. I didn't get any further, but I believe there were at least two more stages.
- Can you propose a design for a library system?
Software Engineer Intern
I had two technical interviews, both featuring fairly simple LeetCode problems. They also asked me some questions about ML concepts. Before the technical interviews, I had a behavioral interview with a recruiter. All three interviewers were really nice and chill!
- Tell me about basic array manipulation and for loops.
- Can you explain some ML concepts?
Software Engineer
I sent in my application and about six weeks later, a recruiter reached out. A couple days after that, I had a video call with the hiring manager where we did some coding. The following week, I had back-to-back interviews over two days with another engineer for coding, the principal engineer doing some whiteboarding, the director of engineering, and a program manager focusing on scrum and productivity tools. The whole thing was pretty straightforward. The wait to hear back from the recruiter might have been longer because of the holidays, but they kept me in the loop which was great.
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with someone and how you handled it.
- Describe a situation where you had an innovative idea but faced challenges in making it happen.
