First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VIZIO.
Android Developer
It started with a 30 min phone call and then a 30 min interview. Then there were 3 rounds: a technical interview, a Hackerank test, and a behavioral interview. It was a standard SDE loop. The interviews were pretty chill and had easy questions. Be ready for a panel interview.

- Can you describe your knowledge of Jetpack Compose?
- Are you prepared for Leetcode-style coding problems?
Systems and Infrastructure Engineer
I wanted to share some feedback regarding my interview process for the Systems and Infrastructure Engineer III position. I applied in May and completed three rounds of interviews in June — recruiter, manager, and panel. I received positive feedback afterward and was told the team just needed another week to make the final decision. A couple of weeks later, I was informed that some other positions needed to be filled first before onboarding for this role, and I was asked to stay in touch, which I did through several follow-ups over the following months. Unfortunately, there was no further response until early October, when I was notified that the team had decided not to move forward, even though I noticed the same position being reposted multiple times. I completely understand that priorities can change, but more transparent communication would go a long way in improving the candidate experience, especially after multiple interview rounds and encouraging feedback.
- What is your experience with JAMF and intune packaging?
Project Manager
I went through the interview process for a Project Manager role at Vizio in Dallas, Texas, which lasted about two weeks in June 2024. It started with a brief recruiter call, followed by a 30-minute video interview with the hiring manager. This hiring manager, the Delivery Manager, was quite rude and unprofessional throughout. He was late to the video call, distracted, and seemed to be vaping. The recruiter then set up another 1-hour interview with the same hiring manager. This time, he and the team lead joined about 15 minutes late without an apology. He didn't turn on his camera and was very disrespectful, asking questions that seemed unrelated to a project manager's duties, like about networks and tech stacks, and even mocking my past work. He didn't let the team lead ask anything. For about 45 minutes, his behavior was so dismissive that I felt completely undervalued. The whole experience was really unpleasant, especially considering the current job market. His behavior felt discriminatory due to our different religions. It's concerning that a company like Vizio, merging with Walmart, would tolerate such unprofessional conduct from senior staff.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
- Could you explain the Scrum cycle and user stories?
- What do you know about what connects networks?
Manager
I went through four interviews initially, and then after two months of no contact, during which I tried reaching out multiple times and was ignored, I was invited for an on-site interview. Upon arrival, the hiring manager was unreceptive, avoiding eye contact and conversation for the first 20 minutes, even while I tried to make small talk. After I was reprimanded for using the wrong doorbell despite following instructions, the interviewer informed me that the person I was supposed to meet wouldn't be showing up. So, I traveled to their office only to be stood up, compounding the previous months of being ghosted. The interviewer then decided to fill the remaining hour with non-critical questions we had already covered in the previous four interviews. Many questions focused on my personal capabilities, with the interviewer seemingly trying to catch me out. For instance, I was asked how I could prove my skills, which felt demeaning given the prior in-depth discussions about my experience and achievements. I felt deliberately set up to fail from the start, and the overall impression of the office environment was bleak and uninviting, which made me feel I avoided a negative situation.
- Can you provide evidence of the skills mentioned on your resume?
