The interview process had 3 main stages. First, a CV screening was followed by a take-home case study focused on market and data analysis. The second round included psychometric testing, covering numerical and logical reasoning. The final stage consisted of an assessment with three parts: i) quantitative reasoning, ii) verbal reasoning, and iii) a live trading game simulation, where quick decisions and logic were tested in a market-like environment. The entire process was well-structured and designed to evaluate both technical and cognitive skills.

There were a few steps to this: First, a technical test on Coderpad.com with 13 questions to be answered in 21 minutes. Then, a tech interview with two folks from the Geneva team. After that, another tech interview with two more people, this time from both London and Geneva. I didn't pass this one. Then there was a culture fit interview with the Team Lead, followed by a business interview. Apparently, I didn't get past the tech interview stage, the third one.

A recruiter from an agency reached out about a Python role at Vitol. The first step was an online tech test, which I found quite over the top. It was heavily focused on Python and SQL syntax, and it wasn't easy at all. Fortunately, I did well enough to move on to the next stage: a technical interview with one of their developers. This part was surprisingly enjoyable and straightforward, involving basic Python concepts like functions and data structures, with a potential for questions on the Pandas library. They might ask about Python fundamentals and intermediate topics such as sets, generators, and exception handling. After this, the recruiter mentioned positive feedback and a follow-up, but a week later, I was told I lacked sufficient experience. It felt like a waste of my time since they could have rejected me earlier if experience was the main issue.
