I applied online and got an email pretty quickly for a phone interview. Later that same day, they invited me for another phone interview with two people from Vital Voices for the next week. The interviews were pretty chill and conversational. They mainly wanted to know why I was interested in Vital Voices and how the role fits into my long-term career plans. The whole thing took about 3 weeks from applying to getting the offer.

The team reached out for an initial phone conversation to discuss the internship program and ask typical questions about my interest and what I could contribute. Following this, there was a take-home assignment, and then a second interview took place at their office. During this final in-person meeting, I met the whole team, and we had a group interview.

After submitting my resume and cover letter, I had a really nice Skype interview with the manager. I found the internship on Idealist. We chatted about what the job involved and my interests and education. We also had some fun chats about my favorite classes and gender studies.
