My first interview was straightforward, and after a couple of weeks, they invited me for a second interview. This was a panel interview and very basic. It felt like they had already decided on a candidate before my interview and weren't genuinely interested in getting to know me. I ended up asking them more questions than they asked me. They never followed up to let me know if I got the job or not. This is my second time applying and interviewing there, and they had the same attitude, so I won't be applying again. It was very disrespectful.

The interview went pretty smoothly and I was told I'd get an update by "early next week." I didn't hear anything that week, so I followed up the following week. I finally got a response three weeks after the initial interview, saying she needed to consult with her colleagues (who weren't even on the call?) to decide on the candidate. I was rejected the week after that. When I asked for feedback, I got no response. I understand that with Covid, holidays, and everyone being so busy, this might happen, but I wanted to share my experience with Vital Voices in case others go through something similar.

This was an initial call with the recruiter. It felt like a standard check to ensure alignment on the role and candidate. It was more of a chat than a formal interview, which was pleasant. They focused a lot on my previous job which wasn't a direct match for this position, unlike some other experiences I have that were more relevant. This caught me a bit off guard as I was ready to discuss how my relevant background fit the role. The response time was also an issue, as mentioned by others; it took two weeks to get an update, even after I followed up when I didn't hear back as promised.

I applied online with a cover letter and then got contacted for a Skype interview. My internet wasn't great so it ended up being a voice interview for 30 minutes. They asked pretty standard questions about why I wanted to intern at VV and how I'd handled challenges before. I think talking a lot about my experience upfront helped a lot. I heard back 3 days later and got the job.
