Visteon conducted an interview for a fake position in Pune. The HR mentioned the position was on hold, which was a waste of time. I was selected in all rounds, but received no offer. It was a waste of time to attend their interview.

It started with a phone call with a hiring manager and the future plant manager, lasting about 1.5 hours. Two days later, I was invited for an in-person interview at the plant in Berlin. After confirming the date, I had to book a flight within hours and got on the plane the next day. The interview was with the same people I had spoken to on the phone and lasted less than 2 hours. Towards the end, the managing director joined and re-asked some of the initial questions, obviously just wanting to get a personal impression, not really interested in my answers. I asked to tour the plant, but was told it wasn't possible at the moment. I was asked about my salary expectations and gave them an annual amount. The next day I flew back to the States, and as soon as I arrived, they had already tried to contact me to make an offer. It turned out they would only cover a small portion of relocation costs and there would be no bonuses or performance-based raises. Even payments for a private pension plan (required by German law!) were refused.
