Applied via website and it took almost two weeks to get to the technical interview. The hiring process wasn't great because the technical interviewer didn't seem to know much about the field. Also, the hiring manager tried to offer a lower salary due to budget constraints.

The interview process with Yuki was a letdown. After passing multiple stages, including a technical test I put a lot of work into, I found the process lacked professionalism. I submitted a technical test with a solution that went above and beyond the requirements, adding extra features and details. But, when it came time to review the test, the interviewers seemed uninterested. I explained my entire solution thoroughly, and to my surprise, they didn't ask a single question about it. This lack of engagement during the technical test review was worrying and showed the interviewers weren't prepared. There were no meaningful questions, and the interviewers didn't seem to have a good grasp of the technical aspects, which was unbelievable. Typically, technical tests should lead to a more in-depth discussion about the solution and related topics to evaluate a candidate's skills. Here, however, the absence of relevant questions and the interviewers' insufficient technical knowledge were obvious. To sum it up, my interview experience with Yuki was disappointing and unprofessional. I wouldn't suggest putting time into this hiring process because the interviewers' lack of preparation and technical knowledge can ruin the candidate experience.

I found out about this Java Software Dev opening from a friend and sent my CV to HR in August 2012. The whole thing took about 2-3 weeks and had 5 parts. First, I had a Skype chat with a manager and a director from Oslo, where we talked about my background and the role. Then, I got a technical challenge to do at home, which wasn't too tough. They checked if it worked, if the OOP was good, the code was clean, and if I included tests and docs. I sent that back by email in a day or two. Next up was a technical meeting at the Timisoara office, with the manager (on Skype again) and a future colleague from there. We went over my home project, how it could be better, and what might go wrong. We also covered other tech stuff like security (encryption types, auth differences, certificates), scaling, databases, and CI. After that, I had a less technical chat with the manager and a PM over Skype. They asked about hypothetical situations, like what to do if you have a one-day deadline and no time for testing – basically, do you ship untested code? It felt more like a personality check. Finally, HR sent me a link for an online aptitude test, kind of like an IQ test. They showed a few images and asked what the next one would be. It was timed, and while the practice questions were easy, the real ones were harder. I got the offer the day after this last test.
