& Process

It was a pretty straightforward process. I spoke with people at different levels. First, there was a call with a recruiter to check my skills and see if I was interested. Then, I had an interview with four people who were looking more into my interest and skills. Finally, I met with higher-ups, and they asked me to make accounting entries for recording a contract, even though I didn't get to see the full contract to fully understand it.

Had a 30-minute phone chat with the Recruiter and then the Hiring Manager. Following those initial calls, I went to HQ for about half a day. There, I had 30-minute in-person interviews with different people on the team. It was a pretty relaxed but still professional vibe. A lot of the questions they asked felt like repeats from earlier in the day. Just be ready for all sorts of questions, from talking about your hobbies and what you like to do, to your career dreams and what kind of work environment you prefer.

I applied online and got a call from a senior recruiter for a 20-minute phone interview. After that, I was invited to a 'super day' where I met 6 people from different teams. The instructions for this day were very clear. The interviews were from 10 am to 1 pm, and no lunch was provided, unlike other employees. The recruiter disappeared after the initial welcome. The recruiter said this was the last round, but since the team was interested, they wanted a second round of interviews at Foster City. They also started my background check during this time. I met with 3 more team members for another interview from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and again, no lunch was provided and transportation wasn't expensed. A senior person had to switch their interview from Skype to a phone call last minute. It was strange that when I asked interviewers about their favorite part of working at Visa, no one could give a clear answer, just mentioning job security or comparing it to old jobs. Three weeks after the last interview, and two months after the initial phone screen, the recruiter finally replied after I sent three follow-up emails. The whole process felt unprofessional and irresponsible, with employees seeming overworked and unhappy.
