Project Manager
hr reached out with a vague job description, unsure how they got my profile. I asked for the full jd and more info, but got no response. A 30-minute interview call was set up for 2-3 weeks later, and I joined without the complete jd. Be careful with the call tool, it might cause issues, and you can't test it beforehand. After some trouble, I joined the call 5 minutes early. The interviewer was 5 minutes late and asked me to wait while they finished something else. I was getting tense due to the tool issue, the interviewer's delay, and the time already passed. Then, they started verification (they want your video on, but won't turn theirs on) and introductions. The actual interview started 15 minutes into the call. They asked questions that were single statements, some about general pm tasks, others linking those tasks to my past experience. It seemed like the interviewer was reading from notes and multitasking, not engaging in a real conversation. I also felt like an AI tool was evaluating my answers, and the interviewer was just a proxy. Not seeing the interviewer's face made me uncomfortable answering questions in the last 15 minutes. The questions seemed straightforward but were tricky. Even though I knew most answers and am certified, the lack of interaction, the feeling of AI evaluation, and the time pressure made me lose interest and give short, to-the-point answers. The interviewer ended the call after about 15 minutes of discussion, making it a 30-minute call overall. No follow-up from hr for a week, so I followed up multiple times. Still no response, not even an acknowledgment. There were many red flags throughout the process, and I felt the hr/interviewer were unprofessional. My overall experience was bad, and I believe Virtusa needs to improve its hiring process. Please share your experience to help others.
- Can you describe the interview process?
Project Manager
I was contacted on LinkedIn by Joanna about an opportunity that caught my eye. The whole experience, from start to finish, was marked by clear communication, so I always knew what was coming next. The process was quite quick, involving just two meetings. The first was with the recruiter, Joanna, and it was one of the best interviews I've had – very professional but relaxed, like chatting with a friend. She asked some really insightful, though sometimes challenging, questions. The second interview was quite tough, with the interviewer presenting some tricky case studies. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job. While the feedback took a bit longer than anticipated, Joanna's detailed explanation when it finally arrived was impressive. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I'd recommend this process.
- Could you elaborate on your knowledge and application of Scrum methodologies?
Project Manager Intern
The interview process was smooth and the interview panel was friendly. However, they did postpone the interview date a few times.
- Can you tell us about your experience with Power BI?
- What Excel functions are you familiar with?
- Could you explain Agile methodologies?
