First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Virtana.
MD EMEA
The interview process was very straightforward and well-structured. I met with the key stakeholders for the role, including the CRO, CEO, and CMO, within two weeks of the first interview. HR followed up quickly, and I received the offer on time, which met my expectations.
- Describe your experience leading a sales team that targeted similar customers.
Software Engineer
Submitted my resume through the college career portal and then got an email from a recruiter to set up a phone technical interview. They asked me to share my screen and write some code. During the interview, the interviewer asked about my interests, explained what the company does, and what my role as an intern would be. The call was scheduled for an hour but ended up being 30 minutes. I had prepared for basic algorithm and Java questions.
- Can you reverse a string?
- Could you also reverse the words within a string, like changing 'This is a review' to 'review is a This'?
- Would you be able to implement a recursive method to achieve the word reversal?
Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack User Interface
The interview process for this Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack User Interface role was okay, except for the attitude of some interviewers. The position is specifically for User Interface, but one interviewer asked about solutions for a new Java version, which seemed out of scope for a UI role. I did manage to answer the Java questions, even though they focused heavily on multithreading, despite the job description emphasizing HTML 5, CSS 3, and Ext Js.
- Even though this is a User Interface position and the job description calls for HTML 5, CSS 3, and Ext Js, the interviewer expected someone with deep Java knowledge, capable of solving problems related to upcoming Java versions not even released yet.
- It's funny that this position has been open for over 6 months, and they still haven't found a suitable candidate.
Quality Engineer
It was a good and fast interview process. There was one phone round with the manager, and then 4 onsite rounds with seniors, devs, and other QEs. It wasn't too difficult, but you should know your basics and your resume well. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. They flew me in for the interview and I got an offer in three days.
- Can you tell me about Object-Oriented Programming concepts?
- Do you have experience with SQL?
- Are you familiar with LINUX commands?
