Behavioral Presentation

I met with the hiring manager and we talked about two different roles since they were undecided on the best fit. The company is small, so it doesn't feel very modern. Then, I had a meeting with another manager from HR who seemed a bit stressed and wasn't clear about the onsite part. Apparently, an internal candidate didn't work out for the role, so this new manager might be dealing with an unhappy employee. After that, I went onsite for a "go see" and then reported my findings back to the hiring manager, but then got ghosted. My follow-up email was also never answered. It was a strange company with strange people. The team didn't seem enthusiastic about working there, and the corporate office is disconnected from the actual store. Be careful! This might be a good opportunity for someone new to retail looking to build a client base.

The interview process was pretty easy and casual with HR, lasting about 20 minutes via Teams. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up, which was disappointing. They mainly asked about my past experiences and my main focus area, like womens wear, menswear, or accessories. They also inquired about my availability to work on-site 3-4 days a week.

I applied online and then HR contacted me to set up a phone interview. When the interview was set, HR asked to move it to another time last minute. I agreed and rescheduled. At the new time, no one called. After I asked if they wanted to reschedule again because they missed the call, there was no response. It was very unprofessional and a waste of my time. They should let people know if they are no longer interested. Given the company's recent challenges, it's possible this is why they are in that situation if they can't even manage a basic interview process.

Behavioral Technical

So I had high hopes for Vince, they're a brand I always thought was aspirational. But my interview experience with them was terrible. It started with HR reaching out and being nice, explaining there'd be a series of in-depth interviews. That was fine. The problem was their inflexibility. Since I'm currently employed full-time and in the office most days, they scheduled interviews without checking if the times worked for me, and these were all video calls where I needed to be on camera and have privacy. During this drawn-out process, I got another offer I was considering, but Vince was my top choice. I asked HR if we could speed things up, and their response was lukewarm. They did say I was the 'lead choice' and sent a project over. I was excited and agreed to do it, even though they knew I only had one day to decide on the other offer. The project came in late, due the next day, and was pretty complex. Honestly, I was surprised they'd expect it to be done so quickly. I had to make a tough call, so I asked for an extension on the other offer, which they gave me. I told Vince's HR that the project wasn't achievable in the given time and I'd need the weekend. They agreed. I worked on it all weekend, proud of what I produced and that it met all requirements. I sent it off, expecting a quick reply. But I never got one. The urgency I mentioned wasn't met or returned. They ghosted me, leaving me with no info or follow-up. I ended up losing the other offer and had to chase Vince for any updates. Days later, HR finally called to say the project 'wasn't good.' That was it. The whole thing made me wonder what it's like working there, and honestly, I'm glad I avoided it. My expectations were way higher, so it was a really disappointing experience.
