First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Village Green.
Sales and Leasing Agent
I had 3 interviews with this company all on the phone/facetime. All three were very nice, however the do not respect your time. I hade to take two whole days off of work and speak with them and they can’t even message me back saying that they aren’t offering me. I reached out to all three interviewers on the day I was supposed to hear back from Village Green and they just ignored me. It is not hard to let someone know, yet they are too rude and/or scared to do so for some reason. Not a group that I want to be employed by if they can’t communicate effectively.

Administrative Assistant
I found the job on an online job board and applied. About a month after applying, I got a call for a brief phone interview where they asked me behavioral questions. Following that, they scheduled me for an in-person interview at their office. During this interview, I met with the office manager, who would be my direct supervisor if I were hired. We discussed my general experiences and skills, and they also asked me several behavioral questions. The interviewer was very pleasant and seemed experienced. I asked a lot of questions, and she provided very positive and thorough answers. The interview lasted around 25 minutes. After the interview, I had to complete an Excel test, which involved data entry, using formulas, extracting information from reports, and entering it. I also had a spelling test focusing on commonly misspelled words. Candidates who pass these stages are typically invited for a second interview with the branch director, which usually happens about two weeks later.

Assistant Property Manager
Applied for a property job close to home. The corporate office called for a phone interview within 1-2 days, which went well. Then, a face-to-face interview was scheduled at a property 20 miles away. Initially confusing, it seemed I was interviewing for a different property manager's role at that location. This interview also went well. It turned out the APM at that property took the advertised position, freeing up this new property. Despite feeling a bit deceived, I felt I could fit in. A second interview was set with the area director, 40 miles away downtown. No parking info was provided, so I had to park 3 blocks away where a shooting occurred earlier that morning, which didn't sit right. At the front desk, after a 10-minute wait, I was directed to another building to wait in a conference room with loud music. The interviewer was cold and strictly business. She asked about handling difficult tenants and time management/prioritizing. She also presented a scenario about returning from a 4-day break to 1,000 emails and an interview, asking how I'd handle it. After the interview, she revealed there wasn't actually a position available, and they were interviewing because the current person might transfer. This was frustrating, as I applied for a job near me needing immediate work, not a backup interview. I decided then I wouldn't work for this company given the disorganized process. The next day, HR sent a standard email about another candidate being selected for the applied position.
- Considering that two people at the property you're applying for have big personalities, how do you anticipate fitting in with them?
Sales Consultant
It was a three step process. First was a phone interview with a corporate recruiter where they asked basic questions and gave an overview of the job and company. Second was an onsite interview with the Property Manager, who described the specific property and asked more detailed questions pertaining to the site. Third was a phone call with the Regional Sales Manager to discuss marketing strategies and situational questions.
