First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VF.
Business Manager
I got ready by looking up the company, figuring out what the job was about, and checking my skills. I kept my cool, answered things directly, asked good questions, and concentrated on showing my value.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment at VF?
Senior Manager
The first round was with the hiring manager, who was a VP. It felt really conversational and they were clearly passionate about their work. The final round was a panel with peers, which was also technical but less conversational. The whole experience was quite pleasant, except for the offer stage. They mentioned a budget for the role, then asked for my current salary and proceeded to lowball me. They stated they couldn't match the initial budget because, 'no one makes such a salary jump these days.' I expected a company like VF to value roles appropriately.
- What is your reason for leaving your current employer?
Assistant Manager
The whole hiring process took about a month from start to finish, which felt pretty long. The interviews themselves were quite direct. They wanted to know about my past work experience, how I'd approach different scenarios involving customers or staff, my career aspirations, and my motivation for joining their company. They were very upfront about their expectations and what they're looking for, and they really want to hear from you. They also expect you to ask questions, not just passively answer theirs.
- Can you walk me through your typical day in your current role?
- What's your background with payroll?
- What experience do you have with hiring?
