Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vetcove.
Software Engineer
They keep re-posting the same position 4 times this year. I'm sure these are ghost jobs at this company. Vetcove, we notice what you're doing. It's not ethical to keep posting the same job with so many qualified candidates applying, then doing who knows with our data. It makes people not trust your company.
- Are you looking for a remote position or are you willing to come into the office?
Software Engineer Intern
So first there was like this quick 15 minute phone screen with the recruiter, they asked about my background and salary expectations, and then I got to ask them questions too. Then a few weeks later, I had a technical interview where I had to code a connect n game, which wasn't too hard.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What are your thoughts on your background?
- What are your salary expectations?
Software Engineer
I was invited to do a technical interview for this role, which ultimately I was a bit disappointed with. The interview was scheduled to only be 30 minutes long, which only left me 20 minutes of actual coding time, in which I was asked to build a game of Connect 4 in the coding language of my choice. I tried my best but ultimately was unable to finish building a working game due to the short time allotted. I then did not hear back for an entire week and only got a standard copy-and-paste rejection email after I sent a follow-up. Ultimately I am unsure what kind of candidate this company is looking for as it feels as though the technical interviews are feasibly impossible.
- Could you build a game of Connect Four?
