The interview process had many steps. A writing task was given to me at the semi-final interview. I analyzed the task meticulously and drafted the answer sheet logically, but it seems it failed.

I was selected based on my CV for a contract manager role needing at least 5 years of experience, which I have (over 20). First, there was an AI interview with timed questions, allowing retries. It felt like the AI analyzed everything, so I tried to be smooth. Next, a junior recruiter called with standard questions about my suitability, expertise (which seemed redundant after the AI interview), and crucially, my desired gross annual salary. Despite my request for a proposal, I had to state my expectations. After checking similar roles and salaries, I submitted an estimated gross annual salary, stating it was a proposal and I was open to negotiation. A week later, the recruiter informed me my salary expectation was about 1/3 over their budget, hence rejection without counter-proposals, a decision backed by management. I question Vestas's salary policies across countries and their lack of salary proposals or counter-offers, which seems unprofessional and opportunistic, possibly aiming for cost savings.

After I sent in my resume, I got an email setting up a meeting with the Hiring Manager. When we finished, they told me the recruiter would call me in a few days. Next up is a personality test, then an assessment and a chat with stakeholders.
