The first round was an aptitude test covering speed, numerical reasoning (like 3, 76, 86, ...), CAD projection angles (3rd angle example), and basic SOM questions. The second round was a group discussion where 4 people were split into 2 teams. The topic was related to our major. Since I'm in mechanical engineering, my team discussed 'factory with AI' versus the other team (mechatronics) discussing 'factory with conventional'.

So for the Graduate Engineer Trainee role at Vestas Chennai, there are generally three stages. First, they look at your resume. Then comes a technical interview where they check your engineering knowledge, like about aerodynamics, electrical engineering, and your projects. After that, there's an HR interview. In the technical part, they might dig deep into your projects and designs, and ask about fundamental engineering stuff. They might also ask if you're into renewable energy and if you can handle engineering docs and SAP.

I was interviewed at their office in Chennai. The first screening was done, then there were 4 rounds. There was a written test on aptitude and technical knowledge. Those who qualified went to another round, which was a group discussion (GD). Those selected in this round went for Technical and HR interviews. The interview was mainly based on your technical knowledge, they are selecting purely on your knowledge, they are not judging you on your behavior or personality. The interview was long, lasting more than half an hour. The procedure is very lengthy, and from our batch, no one was selected. It was disappointing.
