Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vertiv.
Project Manager
So first there was an HR screening call, then a 30-minute interview with the hiring manager and team lead. Both parts were organized well and I had a good experience during the interview itself. But then the follow-up was bad. They gave me a timeline for feedback, which passed and I heard nothing. After I contacted HR, they said they were still talking to the interview panel and would get back to me soon, and also mentioned other possible jobs. Two months after the interview, I got a generic rejection email that didn't mention the interview or any personal feedback. It felt like a standard CV rejection, not a response to someone who made it through multiple interview stages. The lack of communication and feedback made it a poor candidate experience overall. People spend a lot of time preparing for interviews, and timely, respectful communication should show that. Getting an update quickly, even if it was a rejection, would have been way better than a late and impersonal response. Also, it seems like they don't communicate well with candidates while still advertising jobs, leaving people waiting for updates. There seems to be a disconnect between active hiring and candidate communication.
- Can you describe the process of tracking a Purchase Order (PO) from its initial creation through to the final handover?
Project Manager
First they look at your CV, then they email you about interview times. After the interview, HR will let you know if you got selected. Then HR will discuss your salary, and you can negotiate on the offered salary and confirm.
- What is your availability to join the company?
Project Manager
The hiring process spanned about a month and a half and involved multiple calls, including four distinct interviews. The vibe was pretty relaxed, focusing more on understanding my background and past roles rather than throwing difficult technical problems my way. It was a comfortable experience overall.
- Could you describe your responsibilities in your previous role?
- Are you experienced with MEP installation projects?
- Have you worked with an OEM before?
