First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verlocal.
User Acquisition Manager
Applied within three hours of seeing the job on Craigslist. Was interviewed the week after for over an hour by the CEO and a future coworker. Had coffee with another team member for an hour during the week. Met the whole team and got to ask questions. Joined the company the week after.
- Are you passionate about this role?
Marketing
I met with one Marketing team member who asked pretty general and simple questions about my background and future goals. Then, I met the CEO, which was a bit odd. He spoke highly about the company's start but condescendingly about me, with abrupt responses and insinuating questions. The interview was in a room with an air mattress where he slept on weekends. I never heard back from them, which was probably for the best.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Verlocal?
Business Development
This was a really unprofessional interview process, especially for an intern. It felt like a constant argument where I had to defend myself against an interrogation. The CEO seemed to lack basic professional interaction skills and even insulted me, suggesting my demographic group is narrow-minded and only book smart. HR never even responded. It was one of the worst interview experiences ever.
- Can you share insights into your personality, motivations, and aspirations?
Sales Representative
The interview process was pretty straightforward. I was sent a contract but haven't heard back since signing it, which is a bit odd, but I'm staying positive thinking they might just be busy. The interviewer was friendly, and the office vibe is young. If you've got over 3 years of experience, you'll likely be one of the most experienced people there, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective.
