First, a quick 15-minute screen call with an outsourced recruiter. Then, a 45-minute behavioral call with an engineer manager. After that, a take-home tech assessment where I had to build a full-stack app based on mock-ups and acceptance criteria. This was followed by a 1-hour session to review the code, including some live coding. Then, a 1-hour architecture design discussion. Finally, a 30-minute call to discuss company details and culture, which ended with a verbal offer.

I contacted a senior person I knew who connected me to a recruiter. I had an onsite meeting with the recruiter, who seemed rushed and rude. The recruiter didn't have my resume, misread it, and then criticized me based on their misreading. I thought I was interviewing for a junior AI role, but the recruiter set up the interview for a VP OS or platform engineering role instead. Some interviewers were nice, others were rude and egotistical. When I asked about the AI role, I was told the company focuses on APIs and platforms, not much AI work. This was the worst interview experience I've ever had. It was disorganized with rude people, and the company's claim of being an AI leader is false. Sorry to my connection, but it was a pretty terrible process, better than unfunded startups.

The whole thing was kinda chill but messy. Started with a recruiter chat, then an onsite with two tech interviews and one with the engineering and product bosses. The tech ones were fine, the engineers seemed alright. The chat with the bosses was a waste of time though. They're super arrogant and try to sell the company hard. It felt like they wanted to know if you'd just agree with everything they said, not why they should hire you. They seemed more interested in whether you'd feed their ego.
