First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VERITION GROUP.
Quantitative Researcher
It was a pretty relaxed interview, mostly conversational. We chatted about trading strategies and options. They also asked about my previous work history and how it relates to what they're looking for now. No brain teasers, LeetCode, or probability questions.
- Can you tell me about your previous position at x?
- Discuss your experience with options and trading strategies.
- How does your past experience fit the current role?
Quantitative Analyst
It started with a recruiter call where they asked me behavioral questions and why I wanted this job. Then I had a phone screen with the hiring manager. The next round was supposed to be a 4-person back-to-back with portfolio managers/quant teams, but 2 people didn't show up. So I just waited around until the next person. They seemed uninterested and didn't have many questions for me.
- Can you tell me about your performance experience in the consumer space, including areas like auto, credit cards, and SLABS?
- Do you have any math teasers for me?
- How would you approach implementing risk scenarios into a trading process?
Quantitative Researcher
30 min zoom call with a PM where they ask stats and probability questions, followed by a 24-hour take-home data analysis assessment where you need to prepare results and collate them in a report.
- Questions about Data Analysis and Trading Strategy
