A recruiter reached out to me about this role. They gave me a heads-up on the number of interviews I'd likely have. After I went through several interviews, they let me know I was a finalist, though I knew it was still a toss-up and didn't get my hopes up. Then, they added a couple more interviews which I completed. During my chat with the CFO, he was glued to his computer the entire time, not engaged at all. After what felt like months of interviews, about 7 in total, the company just went radio silent on both me and the recruiter. The recruiter was as confused as I was. This kind of behavior isn't normal or professional.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied when the job posting first opened in July, and then again when it reopened in October. I tried reaching out to business development and HR people to show interest but didn't hear back. Eventually, a PM reached out to me for an interview, even though I kept contacting HR. Then, some HR person finally responded and set up a 30-minute technical phone screen, which included typical intuition questions, pitching a stock, and behavioral questions. Based on our chat, she changed my interview from the original PM to a different one. The interview with the new PM was an hour long and focused on pitching stocks and behavioral questions, with a strong emphasis on investing and sector interest. I think it really depends on your background, how quickly you apply, if the PM likes you, and if they think you're coachable. My stock pitches were pretty solid, and my background and resume were good, but what really made a difference was my persistence with HR and how well the PM and I connected. I also leveraged another final round/superday/offer to speed things up with HR and the PM.

The interview process included two 30-minute interviews, mostly behavioral with some questions on stats, brain teasers, Python basics, and product basics. A lot of questions were about a project I did. The internship is in trading. It took about a month from application to the interview.

Behavioral Technical Other

It started with a recruiter call where they asked me behavioral questions and why I wanted this job. Then I had a phone screen with the hiring manager. The next round was supposed to be a 4-person back-to-back with portfolio managers/quant teams, but 2 people didn't show up. So I just waited around until the next person. They seemed uninterested and didn't have many questions for me.
