Software Engineer
The whole thing took about 5 months. I did my onsite in early Jan and then had to chase recruiters for updates, sometimes without any response. Felt like they forgot about me. They made me do an extra interview, which I did and got good feedback on, but in the end, they couldn't find a team for me. It took 2 months after the onsite to get the rejection. I got feedback from the interviews and it felt like the expectations were higher than what's normal for a mid-level role, with some very specific feedback on minor things. They seem to want to be like FAANG but without the pay, equity, or good reviews. The company seems pretty disorganized.
- Solving Leetcode style questions
- Discussing trees
- Exploring backtracking
Senior Software Engineer
The interview involved medium Leetcode challenges, and also cultural and technical questions. It was a bit awkward because the interviewer seemed uninterested, often checking their phone while I was speaking or explaining my problem-solving approach. It felt like they weren't really engaged.
- Could you explain Typescript Generics?
- What are your thoughts on OOP?
- Can you describe Dependency Injection?
Software Engineer
So the job said 3 years of experience, but they still interviewed me. The recruiter told me there would be a phone interview and then onsite interviews. But after I applied, I got a 45 minute technical interview on Zoom. I had to sign an NDA, which was mostly about company secrets from my current job. It was just one interview with a software engineer where I had to do a DSA problem. Didn't hear back after that or get any feedback.
- Can you write a function to parse a chat message file into an array of objects, each containing username and word count per message?
- Following that, can you create a function that accepts this array and an integer K, to then return the K users who used the most words in their messages?
