Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verily.
Data Scientist
I first had a round where we talked about my experiences. Then, I went through two technical interviews, one focused on coding and another on LLM. The interviewers were all really nice and supportive. We finished with plenty of time for my questions.
- Can you discuss your past project experiences?
Data Scientist
The recruiter checked my availability for a phone interview but then ghosted me for about two months. After going through 4-5 rounds of virtual onsite interviews, I received a generic rejection email from the recruiter. No feedback was provided, even though I felt I performed well in the interviews. My overall experience with their recruitment and hiring team was quite negative. Be careful if you're thinking about applying to this company.
- Can you discuss your previous research experiences?
Data Scientist
First, there was a 30-minute call with a recruiter for general questions. Then, a 45-minute 1-on-1 technical interview with live Python coding. After that, a super day with four 45-minute technical interviews. The last step was a team fit call. The process was quick if they were interested. They gave a verbal offer a few days after the team fit call, but then rejected me the next week with a generic rejection letter and no explanation. I asked for a reason but got no response. Very unprofessional and shows how disorganized the company might be. The online reviews seem accurate. Maybe I avoided a bad situation? Consider this carefully if you are interviewing with them.
