Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verily.
Software Engineer
HR will email you if you're selected to interview with the software team. It's pretty straightforward and gets right to the point. They don't care much about your past experience. The interviewer was chill and seemed to want to help you out.
- Solve a Leetcode medium style question using live coding.
Software Engineer
Had an initial interview with some basic coding questions. Then, I was invited for back-to-back interviews, which consisted of 4 interviews all in one day. These back-to-back interviews were quite tough and tiring. The timing for 2 of the interviews was in Pacific time (EST), which wasn't very convenient for candidates in Singapore.
- Questions about recursion
- Questions about DFS
- Questions about topological sort
Software Engineer Intern
I had two 45-minute online technical interviews. They were scheduled in the same 2-hour block. Each interview had one Leetcode-style question. No behavioural questions were asked. The interviewers were really nice and helpful. I heard back about my application two weeks after the interviews.
- What are your thoughts on preparing for Leetcode medium-level problems in DP, graphs, strings, and OOP?
- How do you practice communicating your thought process when solving problems?
