Backend Developer
I had 2 interviews with different managers, the atmosphere was relaxed. One was just about architecture or potential problems and how to solve them, focusing on performance etc. The other was pair programming with someone from the team for the vacant position. During both interviews, they told me everything was okay and HR would contact me to continue the process, but afterwards, they said they weren't moving forward without any feedback.
- Could you technically describe your project?
- How would you approach migrating from a monolithic architecture to microservices?
Data Scientist
The interviewers themselves were great, super friendly and professional. My main frustration was with the recruiter and the overall process. It was particularly disheartening to make it all the way to the final rounds, and then after waiting a week and a half for an offer, I got an email on a Friday asking for references from Verily. I thought that was a good sign, but then on Monday, the recruiter let me know I didn't get the job, which felt misleading and not very professional.
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- Can you explain concepts related to data science?
- Can you explain concepts related to machine learning?
Software Engineer
Had an initial interview with some basic coding questions. Then, I was invited for back-to-back interviews, which consisted of 4 interviews all in one day. These back-to-back interviews were quite tough and tiring. The timing for 2 of the interviews was in Pacific time (EST), which wasn't very convenient for candidates in Singapore.
- Questions about recursion
- Questions about DFS
- Questions about topological sort
Editor
The interview process was straightforward and communicative. They seemed to know what they were looking for but were also open to new ideas and perspectives. It was a pretty typical interview experience overall. They really emphasized company culture and were very supportive of women.
- Could you share your thoughts on the current state of women's magazines?
