Software Engineer
The hiring manager connected with me and the 3 stage process was pretty smooth and I got feedback pretty quickly. The technical interview was fair and focused on my thought process and discussion, and the culture interview was conversational and pleasant.
- What makes you want to pursue a career as a Software Engineer?
Software Developer
The HR people were really unprofessional. I had a scheduled call but no one showed up. After waiting 20 mins, I emailed them, and they asked me to reschedule. They also initially told me to travel to the Austin office for the on-site interview, even though I'm in Raleigh, NC, and applied for the RTP position. Thankfully, they corrected it to RTP after I pointed it out. The process had two main parts. First, a super quick technical phone interview, like only 10 minutes long. Then, I went to their RTP office for the on-site. The on-site was supposed to have three interviews, but one person was out, so I only met with two. The first chat was with the hiring manager, who explained the job and asked me about OOP and some basic Java stuff, plus things from my resume. The second was with a programmer who had me do some white board coding. The problem wasn't too hard, and I figured it out, but I didn't get an offer in the end.
- How to optimize adding a liner array?
- For the white board coding, I had a line on a graph with a varying slope, and I needed to determine the slope given the two edge points. That was it.
- Do you know design patterns?
Senior Developer
It was a Skype interview where I was asked some questions about PL/SQL, Forms, Reports, and Interfaces. They also asked some basic questions about workflows and the order-to-cash flow, including tables. They seemed happy with the process and mentioned another 30-minute Skype interview for a further technical round, but they never got back to me. I emailed them several times. Very disorganized company.
