Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vera Bradley.
Team Lead
It was a straightforward and speedy process. The interviewer was primarily focused on my previous experience to confirm I was a good fit for the role. They were also flexible with my school schedule since I'm a student.
- Can you share details about your past positions?
Team Lead
I was contacted by an email from the person organizing the interviews for a new store opening. I was out of town when they reached out, but scheduled the interview for when I got back. The interview was with the store manager, and two other managers from different locations. They were dressed nicely. The two managers from other locations did most of the talking, while the store manager I would report to mainly took notes.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a difficult customer and describe your approach?
Team Lead
I arrived 30 minutes early to make sure I knew the way. They noticed I was early and mentioned they were waiting for another candidate. This other candidate never showed up, so it was just the three interviewers (DM, HR, and a soon-to-be Store Manager) at the table. The interview itself went okay; I answered some straightforward questions and was done in about 15 minutes. They went over details like the dress code and company policies. They said I'd hear from them on Monday, but I haven't heard anything yet, so I don't know if I got the job.
