First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veolia.
Account Manager
I applied for the Account Manager role via LinkedIn, and luckily I had a referral which might have smoothed things over. The interview process was pretty laid-back, with the Area Manager having a good amount of leeway in how they conducted interviews. It started with a phone chat with the Area Manager, followed by an in-person meeting with them. Then, I had a web meeting with the rest of the Account Managers in the Area. To wrap things up, there was a final phone call with HR, mainly as a formality. The whole thing from applying to getting the offer took about three weeks.
- Can you share an instance where you had to convey negative project news to a customer, and describe your approach?
Account Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter from Veolia because my experience was a good match for the Account Manager role. They mentioned a salary range, and after that, I went through several interviews. However, the offer they sent was significantly lower than the initial salary projection, about $20k less. I told them I wouldn’t switch jobs for that amount, especially after investing around 4 hours in interviews and calls without any prior indication of a salary decrease. The hiring manager suggested that passion should be more important than money, and they refused to increase the salary. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic.
- Can you share some of your past achievements in resolving issues related to industrial water systems?
Key Account Manager
The interview process included both technical assessments and evaluations of personal competencies. Throughout the process, the HR and line managers at Veolia demonstrated respect for candidates' time. It felt like a comprehensive and well-structured process that thoroughly explored all the necessary competencies for a Key Account Manager role.
- How would you approach market penetration?
