First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veo.
Senior Software Engineer
The interview process was quite thorough. The office environment was welcoming, and the team seemed enthusiastic. I found the heavy emphasis on personality testing a bit odd, as it felt like my individuality was being reduced to metrics rather than being seen as a potential team member.
- What would you do if your colleagues decided against pursuing what you believe is the technically correct path?
Software Developer
The first round went well. For the second round, I was given a case study to complete in a full workday and present the following week. I told Veo I couldn't manage that on such short notice, so they canceled my second interview. They said they doubted my commitment and that it was a mistake. Testing is key, and I've done day-long tests before for exciting roles. I guess they found candidates who could do the full day test on short notice and interview during work hours. Those terms aren't unreasonable, but I've never been rejected for not meeting demands so quickly. A former employee said it's an unthankful workplace, but not a place to 'Run!'.
- Given a vague problem from a technically uninformed manager about debugging efforts not resulting in fixes being merged, where many bugs are unresolvable due to inability to reproduce, how would you propose preventing this issue?
Software Engineer
I got an email asking me to interview. They sent a link in an app called Spark Hire with a date and time limit. For each question, I had some time to think and could re-record before sending it.
- Can you tell us about yourself and why you applied to this company?
- Do you enjoy sports and could you explain why?
