after I sent my application, I immediately received an invite for a one-way video interview and the promise they would circle back to me after checking it. I recorded the video interview despite considering it a poor practise. It's been over a month now and I am still waiting for an update, without the possibility to reach out to anyone because they never shared any contact detail. I was also prompted to pay attention to the quality of my audio and lighting, while the videos from the talent aquisition team at VEO were of extreme poor quality, which is ironic considering the product they sell, and tells you everything you need to know about the consideration they have for the candidates.

Behavioral Other

I applied on their website and had my first interview 6 days later. The first step was a one-way video interview. They asked questions in a pre-recorded video from people at VEO. I thought the video quality was very poor, and I didn't like this format at all, especially for a role that requires showing personality and charisma. Instead, you end up talking to yourself. It's been over a month with no response, and there's no one to contact to find out if I've been ghosted or if they're still processing applications. I do not recommend this company.

Behavioral Other

I applied for the role through LinkedIn's easy apply. Then, I received an email asking me to complete a 'one-way video interview.' Essentially, the hiring manager recorded himself asking questions, and I had to record my answers. While the concept was interesting, the platform was buggy and kept crashing. I had to re-record about half the questions, and the last one took five attempts before it finally uploaded. It was a really frustrating experience. I didn't get any feedback on the video, just a generic rejection email about 10 days later. Later, a former manager mentioned someone from Veo had asked about me. I can't prove it, but he thought they were looking for an unofficial reference, which is illegal. Candidates have a right to confidentiality, and it's against the law to collect references without consent. The TA team should know this, so they're either breaking the law on purpose or are too incompetent for their roles.

Coding System Design Behavioral

It was a typical three-stage interview process. Started with a remote screening, then a technical interview with a coding challenge, which was followed by an in-office interview. The last part was a remote culture fit interview. The whole thing went pretty smoothly and fast. Everyone I met was friendly and paid attention. I ended up not taking the offer.
