First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Venafi.
Software Engineer
This was a good team to interview with. It felt like they really wanted to get to know me as a person before diving into the technical parts. They definitely look for people who are eager to learn. I'm looking forward to the possibility of working with them.

Software Engineer
I chatted with the head of engineering for about an hour. He asked me some theory, personality, and coding questions, and we hit it off immediately. He was really nice and friendly but also direct. After that, I met with two engineers from the team. They went deep into C# and JavaScript, even having me code solutions to problems in both languages. They were super smart and knew their stuff but were also friendly. Later on, I got to talk to the exec team. These interviews were more about personality, how I'd fit into the culture, and those kinds of questions. They were all really engaging and passionate people, great at what they do, but they grilled me hard on my resume and were harder to figure out. The last step was interviewing with the CEO, which was the best part. He was super chill and seemed more interested in me as a person than my technical skills. He actually explained why I'd want to work at Venafi. All in all, it was a great interview process!
- If a blind person asked you to build a spice rack, what would be your approach?
- How would you approach building a spice rack for someone who is blind?
Senior Software Engineer
The hiring process was pretty simple, nothing out of the ordinary. It started with a phone screen, followed by either a Skype interview or an in-person chat with engineers who weren't on my prospective team. This part varied depending on your location. Then there was an interview with the VP, and if all went well, an offer would follow.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- I was given some coding exercises.
- I was also given some design exercises.
