It was a 4 round process. It started with a recruiter call, then a portfolio walkthrough, followed by a design challenge, and it ended with a final round with the managers. The process was alright, but I got to ask the Lead designer who interviewed me some questions about the role and who my manager would be. She gave me a general idea of the role, but in the final round, the two managers told me I wasn't a good fit and they didn't want to waste more of my time, which was a bit frustrating since it was already the 4th round. They also said I couldn't collaborate with software developers, which wasn't mentioned in the job description or when I asked the Lead designer. The whole process was confusing, especially since the lead designer seemed to not know much about the role.

The in-person interview was great, they brought in a lot of the team so everyone could give their opinion. Anyone could ask questions, and many of them did. The questions were a good mix of things you'd need to know, be able to do, or be able to handle for a customer-facing job. It wasn't the most intense interview I've had, but it did test a good range of skills, which fits the job. The atmosphere felt welcoming, fun, and even included some banter. They were also clear about expectations. Honestly, this was one of the best interviews I've had, and they were quick! It wasn't a drawn-out process. Really nice.

The hiring process was pretty simple, nothing out of the ordinary. It started with a phone screen, followed by either a Skype interview or an in-person chat with engineers who weren't on my prospective team. This part varied depending on your location. Then there was an interview with the VP, and if all went well, an offer would follow.

The interview felt like a casual chat, more like an investigation into who you are. We talked about your background, your personality, and how you interact with colleagues and yourself. The main advice is to just be yourself throughout the process.
