It was a 30 min phone screener, then a take home assessment where I had to solve a gap between their customer success and sales teams. I was surprised by the task since it was entry level, but figured they wanted to see my thinking. I then had an in-person interview to present my solution to one of the managers. He seemed to really dislike my presentation, rolling his eyes and giving a dismissive response. I was shocked. After weeks of no follow-up, I emailed the recruiter who did the initial screening. They called me back, and seemed surprised I had reached out.

The interview process started with a 30-minute initial screening call with a recruiter from the Peoples Team at Vena, focusing on position alignment and cultural fit. The second interview, also 30 minutes, was with a current senior team member. This second interview was quite negative; the interviewer appeared very biased and disinterested from the start, making it feel like a waste of time. It seemed the interviewer wasn't genuinely engaged and was looking for a very specific type of candidate based on bias. The conversation felt very one-sided. While it was scheduled during lunch, which might explain some grumpiness, the lack of care was evident. It felt like the interviewer had already decided who they wanted.

The phone screen was pretty easy. Then, the second round involved a presentation and some challenging questions from the interviewers, which was good as it showed they were smart and had good talent. The third round happened even though they said the second was the final one. This part was unprofessional because the interviewers seemed unsure about what they were looking for and didn't respect my time, which isn't a good sign of professionalism. I just want to say that while you're looking for the best candidate, remember that candidates are also evaluating you to see if they want to join the company. Being professional really matters.
