Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veeco Instruments.
Manufacturing Engineer
I applied online and had a recruiter screen, then spoke with the hiring manager. After that, I had a panel with other senior managers. I heard back after about 2 weeks, but it was a rejection and they didn't give me any specific feedback. They asked questions based on my resume and past experience.
- Tell me about your resume.
- Can you elaborate on your previous experience?
- What about your experience with wet processes?
Process Development Engineer
The interview was good. The interviewer was really keen to share details about the company and the specific role. They asked me some questions about myself and really encouraged me to talk about my background. All in all, it was a very positive interview experience.
- Can you tell me about a relevant project you worked on?
- Can you tell me about a relevant publication you authored?
Process Engineer
I had a first interview with the manager, director, and HR. Then I presented my previous working experience, my attitude for work, the time period I've been in related fields, and my personal plan for when I'm hired. The bonus depends on the yearly performance of the entire company, not just my specific role. I was also told I'd have to travel abroad or domestically frequently.
- What are your expectations for this role and your scope of responsibility?
- Can you describe your previous working experience?
- How would you describe your attitude towards work?
