Veeco Instruments Interview Questions
& Process

I applied online and had a recruiter screen, then spoke with the hiring manager. After that, I had a panel with other senior managers. I heard back after about 2 weeks, but it was a rejection and they didn't give me any specific feedback. They asked questions based on my resume and past experience.

I had a first phone screen with HR. Then a video call with the Hiring Manager. After that, a virtual round with a Sr Mechanical Engineer. Then an On Site interview with another Sr. engineer and the director. I waited 2.5 weeks to hear back about the rejection.

The interview process took about 2 months. I first spoke with the recruiter, then had a phone interview with the hiring manager about a week later. The following week, I had 7 one-on-one panel interviews with team members and managers, without a presentation. I got good feedback after that. The week after, they arranged a site tour of the company. A week later, they asked for my references. Then, another week passed, and they informed me my offer was sent to headquarters for approval. After accepting the offer, there was a one-week background check, and then onboarding. The recruiter at Veeco was great, providing efficient communication and feedback, along with valuable insights about the role. The Veeco team was professional and friendly, ensuring transparency. They even split the panel interviews over two days to prevent fatigue. They seem to genuinely care about their employees, making it a great place to work.

I was contacted by Suzanne Correa, a recruiter from Veeco Instruments in San Jose. The interview was a four step process. The first step was a phone screening with Suzanne Correa which was extremely exciting. At that time I was a postdoctoral researcher in Puerto Rico. The interview was to the point and Suzanne utilized every second of our conversation to get as much as information about my skills which can be used for Veeco instruments. During the same month I was also interviewed by several other companies. However, my interview with Suzanne was very informative from both sides and as a result I felt very comfortable with Veeco Instruments. In the second and third screening process I was interviewed by the manager and one of the senior employee which also went very good. The fourth steps was the onsite interviews including a presentation. I wish every company can have recruiters like Suzanne who knows how to find talent around the world.
