Vector's hiring process is too much like FAANG and I think they miss out on great candidates. I applied for a python programming position and was given a phone screen, then a 4+ hour python project with little to no instruction, then a 1.5 hour traditional coding interview. I was told I interviewed well but was too early in my career. Then I was passed on to a C++ hiring manager for a 2 hour whiteboard interview on-site. This process took months and is too time consuming for someone working full-time.

First, there was a get-to-know-you chat with someone from HR. After that, they gave me a small coding assignment to complete within a week, which I then had to present. Once we talked through the solution, we dove into more questions about my past work history, plus some 'Behavioral' questions.
