Project Manager
Talked with 7 people from different departments in multiple rounds of interviews. The conversations were nice and we had good back and forth over email. The recruiting team was helpful.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Project Manager
I applied online and heard back super fast, like within two days. First was an HR screen where I had to do an essay questionnaire. Then, about two days later, they set up a video interview for two weeks out. When the time came, I waited around forever, and then the recruiter called to say an interviewer had an emergency and we had to reschedule. They cancelled again, but at least this time I got 16 hours notice, and it was only pushed for three days. Finally, the interview happened with three team members for about 90 minutes, focusing mostly on my past work. They seemed experienced and nice. After that went well, they invited me for an in-person interview with the same group, another 90 minutes or so. About three hours later, I got an email to do a case study within 48 hours, which I completed and sent back. A few days later, they asked me to come back again for about an hour to discuss company culture with a couple other people. They mentioned my case study got good reviews. The recruiter emailed saying everything went well and he'd be in touch, but it's been a month and a half with no contact, even after I followed up twice. It's weird to go through all that and not get any feedback.
- Can you elaborate on typical industry KPIs and your familiarity with them?
- How do you go about prioritizing your tasks?
- What's your style when it comes to managing a team?
Project Manager
I applied to the LA office and after about a month and a half, I got a call for a phone interview. My schedule was wide open, but the interviewer kept pushing back our meetings, sometimes by days, and wouldn't respond to my emails for a while. It took 3 weeks to actually connect. She was in NY and asked some basic questions. She mentioned I was a strong candidate and that I would move on to the next steps, but they didn't have full hiring details yet and she'd get back to me in a week. She never did, even after I followed up for two months through email, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I'm a big fan of VaynerMedia and Gary, but the lack of communication was really disappointing.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
