Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co., LLP.
Auditor
I went through the first round and then had a second interview. It was pretty okay, except they asked half of the same questions from the first interview in the second one (different interviewer though) which made me think they weren't super prepared. One of the interviews had some long explanations that felt a bit much, but the people seemed really cool. They talked about family a lot and were nice during the interview. It was actually fun since I just graduated college and I wish more interviews were like that. Too bad I didn't get the job, but oh well.
- Could you tell me why you are interested in working with us?
Staff Auditor
The interviewer talked about the job and my resume, and asked me about my background. He thought my experience fit what they were looking for. We also chatted about salary and how long people tend to stay here. He said it's a really good place to work. It's a shame I didn't get picked.
- Is travel something you're open to?
Senior Auditor
Started with a recruiter call and a phone interview. Then had a panel interview with partners and senior management that lasted about an hour. Received a formal offer a few days later via email. Most negotiations happened over email and phone.
