Collections Specialist
I applied for a job and got an email on a Sunday night asking about my availability for a phone screening the very next day. I replied quickly and set it up. I spoke to the intern recruiter for about 30 minutes and was told I'd get an email by the end of the week. Two weeks went by and nothing. I called the intern recruiter three times to ask about my application status and the next steps. Finally, I got an email from the Hiring Manager saying I wouldn't be moving forward. I thought it was pretty unprofessional not to email when they said they would. Having to call them three times and not getting updates from the recruiter about my application status was a letdown. After waiting almost three weeks for that email, I figured it might not be a good company to work for. I've never had to wait that long for an email or chase down a potential employer that many times.
- Can you discuss your current role and responsibilities?
- Could you provide an overview of your resume?
Product Specialist
The recruiter contacted me a few weeks after I applied. After the initial phone screen, she mentioned the managers were really impressed and invited me to come to their headquarters for an interview with the hiring manager. The on-site interview went for over an hour and included two managers from different parts of the Product Specialist team. I got a rejection email about 2-3 weeks later. They actually changed the job title to "Senior" when they told me I didn't get it, which it wasn't before. It would be great if they were more upfront about things, especially when I took the time to travel and talk to their managers.
- Describe your experience with fast-paced versus slow-paced work environments and tell me which one you prefer.
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was very organized. I got an email from Cynthia Lewis asking for my availability for a phone interview. I got a quick confirmation email and after the phone interview, I was scheduled for a formal interview the next day. The managers were prepared with their questions and knew what they were looking for. After the interview, I was told I wasn't suitable for that position but they had a better one for me that fit my background, so I'm staying in contact with Cynthia. Everyone was friendly and I loved the environment from the moment I walked in.
- Can you share an instance from your past job where you exceeded expectations?
Customer Experience Specialist
I had about three rounds of interviews. First, a phone interview that lasted about 20 minutes, then I was invited in person. I met with two department supervisors and it was pretty in depth. They went off a two-paged question sheet and it lasted about 30 minutes. I got offered the final interview with a senior manager and it was fairly quick, they just wanted to get to know me and why I want to work there.
- How would you handle correcting a coworker?
- What does being a team player mean to you?
- Tell me about a time you resolved an angry customer's problem.
