I applied on LinkedIn and was then invited to a Zoom panel interview. It had about six people, including managers and future coworkers. We went through some typical questions. After that, I had to complete a basic background check.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The job interview took place in a professional and friendly setting. At the start, the recruiter explained the process and asked me to introduce myself, which helped break the ice and build rapport. Afterward, they asked me questions about my work experience, academic background, and technical skills relevant to the role. They also touched on personal aspects, like my strengths, areas for improvement, and motivations for joining the company. During the conversation, I had the chance to present specific examples of projects I've worked on, which allowed me to showcase my abilities. The interviewer seemed interested in my answers and presented hypothetical scenarios to assess my analytical and problem-solving skills. The interview concluded with an explanation of the next steps in the selection process and an opportunity for me to ask any questions.

Technical Behavioral

It was pretty straightforward. First, an HR sanity-check call, then a hiring manager call, and finally, a panel interview with some engineers and leadership. The whole thing took about a month from applying to the offer. My initial recruiter got laid off mid-process, which messed up the logistics a bit for everyone. The initial recruiter said my salary expectations were easily met by the company, which kind of tricked me into finishing the interviews. But when the offer came, it was about 30k less than I asked for with no room to negotiate, so I turned it down.

The initial part of the interview process was alright. I had a pleasant conversation with the first hiring person I spoke with. However, the HR hiring manager I met with later was not very nice. It seemed like they weren't really interested in being there and only asked me a couple of things. I got the impression they had already decided to pass on me and were just taking up time. They cut the conversation short right after I asked my question, and only spent about 15 minutes talking to me.
