Project Manager
The whole interview thing took about a month from start to finish, with 3 interviews in total, starting with the recruiter screen. Things moved fast, and I ended up talking to the hiring manager and then had a technical interview.
- Describe a situation where you had to manage competing priorities and explain your process for determining when to loop in relevant stakeholders.
Project Manager
A very detailed discussion where you meet various people currently working at the company. The questions are pretty standard since the interviewers don't really want to do it. The process is too long and cumbersome for senior positions.
- Can you tell us about your experience?
- Can you describe your approach to project methodologies like Agile or Waterfall?
- How do you handle team and stakeholder management?
Project Manager
I applied and the recruiter reached out. Had a first phone screen with my potential supervisor, which I think went well. After that, they gave me a take-home assignment to test my technical skills. Then I had a follow-up interview with a technical lead to check my technical abilities, which also seemed to go okay. I then spoke with someone higher up and they said my technical skills were better than the other candidate, but they needed to think about whether I was the right fit. After that, I had three more phone interviews and they were pretty vague about where I stood in the process. They finally said they were doing another round and would let me know my status afterward, but I never heard back. It was a really disrespectful process, and my recruiter even said she'd never seen anything like it.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to explain complex technical problems to people who weren't technical?
- What's your approach to collaborating with very technical team members?
