First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vantage Data Centers.
Critical Infrastructure Technician
First, I had a quick 15-minute chat with HR. Then, I talked to the hiring manager for about 30 minutes on MS Teams about my background and the job. Finally, there was a 60-minute technical part where they asked me electrical and mechanical engineering questions.
- Can you describe the electrical power distribution system, from where power is generated all the way to where it's used?
- Could you draw out the refrigeration system or cycle?
- What exactly is CRAH?
Project Coordinator
I am disgusted by my interview with a male employee at this company. He asked me point blank if I had ever experienced sexual harassment in the workplace and told me I would absolutely experience sexual harassment by the construction workers at this company. I was so shocked I didn’t know how to respond. As a female, I would not feel safe working at this company after this experience.
- Have you experienced sexual harassment at your past companies?
Intern
It wasn't too tough, the questions were pretty good. It was 2 rounds total. First was with the recruiter, then the team I'd be working with. The second round had two interviewers, so it got a little more intense, but they were really nice and seemed more interested in my personality. My computer even cut out during the Zoom call and I had to reconnect, but they were super chill about it and helped me not freak out!
- What's your approach when dealing with conflicts or disagreements with colleagues?
Procurement Manager
First up was a screening call with a recruiter or HR to go over my background, what I'm looking for in a role, and make sure I hit the basic requirements. Then, there was a technical interview, a one-on-one with the hiring manager or technical lead. After that, I had two separate competency-based behavioural interviews (each about 45–60 min) with different people from other teams to check out my leadership, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and if I'd fit in culturally. Lastly, there was an on-site where I met with stakeholders and we went into more detail on both technical and behavioural stuff.
- Can you explain how you would create and implement a procurement strategy?
