First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vans.
Manager
I had a Zoom interview process before 2023. First, I interviewed with the store manager for about 30 minutes. Then, I had a second interview with a store manager from a different location, which was also about 30 minutes. I got the job offer within a week.
- Can you describe your management style?
Manager
I talked to four different people before I got the offer. It started with a phone call and then moved to in-person meetings. It took about two months to get the first interview. They were really open about everything during the process.
- Can you tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation and how you handled it?
Assistant Manager
First, I got a call from a recruiter and had a phone chat with them. Then, there were two in-person interviews. The first was with the HR manager, which was super chill and positive. The second one was with two regional managers, and it was way more intense. The first interviewer seemed to like me, but the second one was really hard to read and asked a lot more in-depth questions about my KPIs and wanted specific examples of my work, like a successful story of training a staff member.
- What are your biggest de-motivators and have you ever disagreed with a manager's directive?
- Describe a situation where you had to address an underperforming employee.
- What makes you want to join our company?
